Description Of Job
CARE International is recruiting candidates for an anticipated Complementary Basic Education project in Ghana.
Job Summary:
The Audit and Finance Manager will be responsible for training the finance and senior management of Implementing Partners in the policies and procedures of CARE for budgeting, requesting advances, reporting on expenditures, allowable expenses, and reconciling advances.
• In addition the AFM will conduct spot checks/audits on Implementing Partners, approve advances to IPs, enter all expenses into the CARE Accounting System, and prepare reports for the donor and GES.
• The AFM will provide technical assistance to the Financial Controller’s office of GES in terms of preparing systems for the future management of the program by GES.
Qualification Required & Experience
Key Qualification, Skills & Competences:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, plus 6 years experience, or a Masters degree plus 3 years experience in Finance or Accounting with a CPA.
• Experience managing sub grants and commercial contracts.
• A high level of proficiency using People Soft, Adaptive Planning, or similar financial packages, as well as Micro Soft Applications.
• Prior experience and familiarity with international development partner’s financial procedures and reporting requirements are a plus.
• Experience in conducting spot checks and audits would be preferable.
• Capacity to train, coach, and mentor counterpart finance professional would be essential
• Availability to travel extensively in Ghana
