Job Vacancy For Communication for Development (C4D) Specialist At Unicef Ghana
Type of Contract: Consultancy/Temporary Appointment
Duration: 4 months
Job Level: NO-C
Purpose:
• To support large scale C4D efforts in an integrated and consultative manner including the design, monitoring and implementation of essential child survival practices
• To support the coordination and implementation of mass media and interpersonal communication networks
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop post campaign plans for the remaining three Regions
• Monitoring the execution of the C4D plans in Central and Western Regions
• Refine the M&E tools and ensure their utilisation in all the regions
• Support the upcoming evaluation of the campaign
• Support the finalisation of the regional C4D plans and their execution
• Support the capacity building initiatives to ensure success
• Provide support to plan and raise money to implement the Five Key Behaviors (5KB) project
• Support the finalisation and adoption of the strategy by the government
• Support the design of the activities and establishment of partnerships
Deliverables:
The following are the expected deliverables:
• Make inputs into the LLIN Keep Up campaign planning, implementation and monitoring
• Make inputs into the finalisation of the Meningitis A vaccine regional C4D plans and their execution in November in the North
• Make inputs into finalisation and adoption of C4D strategy for cholera response
• Make inputs into the design of the activities and establishment of partnerships for Nutrition Programme
Qualification Required & Experience
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates should have at least a minimum of Advanced Degree in the Social/Behavioral Sciences, (Sociology Anthropology, Psychology, and Health Education) with Emphasis on Strategic Communication Planning for behavior development, social Mobilisation, participatory communication and research.
• At least 5 yrs of progressively responsible professional work experience in the development, planning and management of social development programs, including several years in a developing country like Ghana, with practical experience in the adaptation and application of communication planning processes to specific programs
• Fluency in English
