World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of:

1. Job Title: Hydrogeologist
Report to: Senior Hydrogeologist

Job Summary:

To provide technical assistance to the Senior Hydrogeologist for the effective implementation of the water and sanitation program of the project through the selection of prospective sites for drilling design, construction, development and performance of boreholes.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support in the management of field operations in the selection of sites, design, development and construction of water facilities from groundwater and surface water sources.

2. Evaluate and interpret hydrogeologic data and develop appropriate conclusions and recommendations, as well as prepare detailed technical support for senior Hydrogeologist on efficient execution of water and sanitation project.

3. Provide technical support for the planning, coordination and monitoring of all constructional and civil engineering works, as well as supervise the preparation of borehole logs for the project.

4. Assist in the writing and presentation of the operations monthly, quarterly, annual and other technical reports as required by the project manager.

5. Ensure efficient handling of all field equipment and their accessories and make sure they are always in good condition.

6. Provide supervision of the drilling team on the field.

Person Specification:

. Educational level required: Degree in Geological Science, Applied Geophysics, Geological Engineering or Hydrogeologist.

. Technical Training qualifications required: Professional Technical skills desired (certification?)

. Experience: 5 years of experience in relevant field

. Masters Degree in Geological Science, Geological Engineering, Hydrogeologist or Water Resources Engineering is preferred.

. Must possess a valid driver's license.

. Must be able to work under pressure and without supervision

. Must be proactive with high level of initiative, innovation, drive and a strong team player with interpersonal skills.
