World Vision Ghana (WVG) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated person for the position of:
Job Title: Hualage Driver / Mechanic
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
To contribute to the attainment of the WVG's equipment availability and production objectives by providing cost effective maintenance and repair of drilling equipment both on the field and the base camp and undertake driving assignments.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Carry out routine checks of drilling equipment and other vehicles and ensure drilling equipment are in good condition for use.
2. Ensure that log books and other basic tools including dusters are available on all office vehicles.
3. Check and ensure the routine servicing of vehicles are promptly carried out when due.
4. Diagnose faults that are reported on vehicles, carry out repairs and recommend appropriate measures to avoid re-occurrence.
5. To offer technical advice to the driller (on the field) and perform driving assignments as required.
Person Specification:
. Education level required: Certificate in MVT I/ NVTI II & I
. Technical training qualifications required: Professional technical skill desired (certification).
. Experience: 3 years working experience with both heavy and light duty equipment.
. Experience with both heavy and light duty equipment in the water well drilling industry is preferred.
. Possess good time management skills to organize, plan and prioritize assignments.
. Ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships with others.
. Must possess a valid driver's license.
. Must be able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision on a variety of surface and groundwater related projects.
