Company Description Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. (“KRGL”) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s next gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid - tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.
KRGL is seeking to employ a qualified person to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The camp’s facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis, pool tables, table soccer, soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Position: CONTROL SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR
A Scada Control systems specialist with strong capability in PLC coding, interfacing of the PLC’s with the Scada and Motor protection/communication systems. Skills required to do report writing and fault analyses making use of data from the Historian.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for operation and management of Control systems including the SCADA system;
• Design, document, implement and maintain essential SCADA, control systems, communication systems and protection set up for electric equipment and distribution networks;
• Provide appropriate and timely technical and fault analyses advice on matters relating to Control systems;
• He/ She will be required to train, coach and mentor subordinates to perform effectively and efficiently.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Tertiary qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution;
• Ten years work experience in instrumentation and process control in the mining industry and or related environment, five of which must have been in the Gold processing environment;
• Strong ability to manage and maintain process plant instrumentation and control systems;
• Sound process plant business acumen and ability to influence main cost drivers to achieve set objectives;
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft office, MS project;
• Strong Programing Skills in Siemens S7 PLCs, WinCC SCADA, SIMOCODE motor protection software and a working knowledge in Profibus communication;
• High technical ability in problem solving and failure analysis capabilities with special emphasis on field instruments, PLCs, Scada control and communication systems;
• Must be able to read, interpret and troubleshoot instrumentation and controls schematics / drawings;
• Leadership experience and thorough understanding of good engineering practices;
• A strong desire to coach and develop others by sharing skills and knowledge;
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
• Very good inter departmental relationship.
• Must be able to prepare and work within budget and timelines.
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain.
• Must have an impeccable security and ethical track record;
• Must have good understanding of server architecture;
• Must understand redundancy and hot standby configuration with seamless switchovers;
• Must be familiar with virtualization technologies;
• Must be able to perform disaster recovery from crashed systems;
• Ability to prepare technical and non-technical documentation;
