Job Vacancy For Chief Finance Officer
Our client, a leading case metal refiner in Ghana and West Africa is seeking to recruit a results-driven, self-motivated and competent individual with the ability to provide inspired and exemplary leadership to fill the position of Chief Finance Officer at its Head Office in Tema, Ghana.
Job Summary:
• The successful candidate will be responsible for directly and overseeing the financial and accounting functions of the company while ensuring the overall financial well-being, accurate financial reporting, robust financial planning, adequate funding, prudent cost management and regulatory compliance are maintained.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Proactively improving the company’s financial accounting reporting, treasury management and prompt provision of management and statutory reports.
• Supporting the CEO on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships with statutory regulatory bodies, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.
• Assisting the CEO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of pragmatic budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective projects.
• Ensuring adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pas independent audits.
• Preparing and overseeing the Operating Budget of the company.
• Overseeing the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organisation; including organisational revenue/expenses and Balance Sheet reports, Annual Financial Statements, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organisational and contract budgets.
• Overseeing all payroll activity for staff and Management, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables.
• Developing and maintaining systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of organization.
• Ensuring adequate cash flow to meet the needs of the organization.
• Overseeing the production of monthly reports including reconciliations with finance and pension fund managers and cash flow projections for use by Executive Management as well as Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
Qualification Required & Experience
• A Professional Accounting qualification in ACCA or ICA
• An MBA in Finance or Accounting from any accredited University is an added advantage
• A minimum of 7 to 10 years working experience in similar position within a company with a staff strength of not less than 200
• Must be computer literate and conversant with the SUN Accounting System
• Must have good communication skills both written and verbal
• Must have knowledge of the Companies Code of 1963, IFRS standards and Treasury management
