Description Of Job
Contract Duration: 6 months with possibility of Extension
WUSC is seeking qualified candidates for a proposed skills training project in Ashanti Region, Ghana.
Summary of the Project:
The key objective of the project is to increase quality and relevancy of skills training provided by building capacity of local vocational training providers. The project will work with and according to the evolving TVET sector in Ghana.
Job Purpose:
Under the direction of the Country Director, the Project Coordinator will provide broad visionary leadership for the achievement of project objectives and manage the implementation of the day to day activities of the project. As the Project Coordinator, your role is to provide technical and programme expertise to ensure efficient and effective planning and execution of the various project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strengthening economic growth and job creation through increased skills for employment for youth within the target communities
• Strengthening governance and service delivery through improved knowledge, organizational management and capacity strengthening of local TVET providers;
• Coordinating project activities and supporting technical experts and other staff assigned to the project; and
• Promoting gender equality and integration into all project activities, including training of service providers, youth, community members and entrepreneurs

Qualification Required & Experience
• Masters Degree (or higher) with at least 3 year experience in project management, development studies or a relevant field or equivalent qualifications
• Bachelor Degree (or higher) with a minimum of 7 relevant experience in project management, development studies or a relevant field or equivalent qualifications A minimum 5 years relevant experience in community development or education
• Expertise int he skills training sector/TVET
• Experience in donor funded project management
• Experience in Labour Market surveys and needs assessment
• Training experience with community organization/private sector
• Experience with training in institutional/organizational development
• Capacity to work comfortably at all levels of society
• Background in planning, gender equality, and education
• Experience working with communities in the Ashanti Region will be an asset
• Experience in conducting community assessments and developing appropriate social marketing programs
Competencies:
• Positive and progressive outlook and a strong knowledge and interest in international cooperation and development
• Creative, innovative and results oriented;
• Good understanding of gender equality principles;
• Extensive experience in building and working with teams;
• Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work under pressure, and work without close supervision
• Attention to detail, initiative and drive and technical report writing skills; and,
• Fluency in English and Twi is mandatory
