Job Vacancy For Head of Human Resource Management



Our client is one of the long-established and leading non-banking financial institution in Ghana. It is licensed by the Bank of Ghana to carry on the business of savings and loans as defined by the Banking Act, 2004 (Act 673). The company has its head office in Accra with strategically located its business and operations.

We are therefore looking to recruit executives who are very dynamic, results-oriented, competent, strategy-focused and who are challenged to lead organisational transformation and development. The position to be filled is: Head of Human Resource Management

Summary of Job Responsibilities

•   Responsible for ensuring sound and strategic planning, management and leadership of the human resources functions of the company as strategic partner to line managers for competitive advantage of the company
•   Reports directly to the managing director

Essential duties and accountabilities

•   Support and drive the vision of the company through strategic human resource interventions
•   Develop and implement strategic human resource philosophy and practices that empower staff for optimum performance
•   Develop and operate by sound human resource philosophy and practices that empower staff for optimum performance
•   Research and advise management on performance, remuneration and labour negotiations
•   Ensure sound industrial relations, industrial harmony and congenial work environment
•   Ensure adequacy of qualified and competent staff
•   Responsible for staff health, safety and environmental issues of the company
•   Ensure discipline and maximum staff productivity of all employees
•   Ensure all labour and administrative issues are handle strictly according to relevant labour laws and best practices
•   Ensure that the company is an employer of choice in the industry
•   Support all departments in their human resource needs

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Master degree in Business Administration - Human Resource management or general management, law degree with expertise in industrial relations and labour laws or other related field with at least 8 years of relevant work experience or Bachelor degree in HRM, law or general management with at least 12 years of relevant experience (At least 6 of which must be at senior management level)
•   Membership of and good current standing of a relevant professional organisation such as SPHR, CIPD, IHRMP is desirable and an advantage
•   Advanced knowledge in industrial relations, employee relations, and labour law and regulations - labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) and other workplace regulations and policies
•   Expertise in at least 5 specialist human resource management areas including labour negotiations and dispute resolution and safety, health and work environment (SHE) issues.
•   Competency in T24 banking software is a plus
•   Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, dispute resolution and interpersonal skills
