Job Vacancy For Principal Policy & planning Officer

Immediate Supervisor: Assistant Manager, Policy and Planing
Job Purpose:
• Assist in policy formulation, analysis and evaluation in the mining industry.
Duties:
• Identify policy issues in the minerals industry tor the attention of the Superior.
• Initiate formulation of policies for the development of minerals industry
• Formulate draft policies for review
• Review the planning functions and activities of the Department and develop strategies which will contribute towards promotion and development of the Mining Sector
• Conduct review of national policies and determine their implications on the minerals industry and recommend appropriate revision.
• Evaluate policy implementation within the mineral industry
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Manager of the Department orthe Director of the Division
Expected Outputs/Performance Standards:
• Expected deliverables are achieved
• Reports and documents meet quality standards and are submitted timeously

Qualification Required & Experience
• Candidate for the post of Principal Policy & Planning Officer must possess a degree in Geosciences Or Mining Engineering from a recognized university.
• A second degree in Planning, Policy and Management would be an added advantage.
• Must possess at least 6 years, second degree, post qualification and professional experience in the minerals and mining industry.
