Tourism Officer Job Duties

•   Tourism officers develop and promote tourism in order to attract visitors and generate significant economic benefits for the Company including marketing, visitor management and the development of tourism product and service.

•   Tourism officers are responsible for developing and promoting tourism as a means of stimulating economic activity in and outside the country.

Responsibilities and Duties

•   Develop tourism information to clients;
•   Plan  local and international tours and related itineraries for existing and potential client;
•   Developing e-tourism platforms  and constructing business databases;
•   Organizing special and seasonal events ;
•   Lobbying the tourism industry and government on strategic matters such as quality; assessed accommodation, •   collation of national and international sites.
•   Devising and coordinating marketing campaigns;
•   Undertaking market research;
•   Providing a range of information on local resources and facilities;
•   Supporting the local tourism industry through providing promotional opportunities;
•   Operate within budgetary restrictions;
•   Prepare and present reports for various tourism related sites;
•   Any other duties assigned to you by the General Manager from time to time;

Working Areas

•   The work may involve outside and at different locations.

Report

•   Report directly to the General Manager

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must have a certified IATA  (International Air Transport Association) certificate from any recognized institution. Knowledge in tourism management is an added advantage.
•   Must have two years working experience in the related field

•   The ability to produce and  deliver a quality product or service on a limited budget;
•   Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;

•   Stamina is required to work under pressure and cope with long hours and, on occasion, physically demanding work.
