Job Vacancy For UN M&E Specialist At UNDP Ghana
The Resident Coordinator system encompasses all organizations of the United Nations that have operational activities in the country. As the designated Representative of the UN Secretary-General and leader of the UN Country Team (UNCT), the UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC), in consultation with the UNCT, assumes overall responsibility for and coordination of the developmental activities of the UN carried out at country level.
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Head of the RC Office, the UN M&E Specialist has a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of the UN Country Team in implementing and tracking progress of the Delivering as One process in Ghana, with a focus on the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) and its corresponding UNDAF Action Plan (UAP).
Key Functions:
The incumbent serves as UN focal point for the operationalization of the UNDAF Action Plan, with a focus on programme M&E and compliance with key UN programming and RBM principles. In particular, he/she:
• Leads inter-agency M&E efforts in support of the UN M&E Group for joint programming and tracking progress on Delivering as One, including supporting annual work planning, consolidation of inputs for the annual review process of the UNDAF Action Plan
• Serves as UN focal point for Joint Programmes and collaborative programming under the UNDAF Action Plan and Supports Outcome Group Conveners as well as IPG and UNCT in the identification, development, implementation, M&E and joint resource mobilization for Joint Programmes
• Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and management focusing on achievement of collection and dissemination of global practice in the field of M&E while supporting implementation of these practices locally and provides advice and substantial support to RC and UNCT work planning and reporting and supporting the development of the RC/UNCT work planning

Has ICDL standards and excellent skills in the use of office software packages, and experience in handling web based management systems
Education and Experience:
• Master's degree in Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences or related field with minimum of years relevant work experience in development at the national or international level, with specialisation and direct hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects
• Direct work experience in developing and/or managing M&E or Results Based Management Systems in the context of international development programming a strong asset. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this post
