The African University College of Communications(AUCC) is recruiting qualified persons for the following position: Academic Registrar
Job Description
• To act as the custodian for student records and academic information at the university, providing statistics and analysis as and when required for internal and external purposes, including timely and accurate statutory returns. This includes interacting with both students and faculty to provide services in the following areas:
1) Student Information System
2) Academic history
3) Admissions semester/course registrations
4) Enforcement of academic policies
5) Course auditing/ Re Takes
6) Faculty/staff support
7) Graduation planning and certification
8) Integrity, access and security of Academic records
9) Enrollment verification
10) Transcripts request
11) Student database support
• To contribute to the development and implementation of the University college's education strategies, ensuring they are translated into effective operational practices and procedures that are also effective adn efficient customer focused practice and procedures
• To provide effective, dynamic and creative / innovative leadership to all areas within the Academic registry taking responsibility for the successfully meeting agreed service objectives
• Lead the design and delivery of excellent academic and support service across all the academic disciplines and student life cycle from recruitment to graduation
• To work with the Registrar/Chief Administrative Officer and the Senior Management team in the implementation, development, monitoring and refinement of the university's strategic objectives
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Postgraduate or professional qualifications within a relevant area or equivalent experience
• Proven ability to operate and deliver at strategic and operational levels and in areas relevant to an academic and student focused environment
• Proven experience of implementing wide change management initiatives and formulating strategic plans that reflect and support the priority needs of the University
• Evidence of team leadership including team building and individual professional development
• The ability to build, manage and motivate large multidisciplinary teams, creating effective teams with proven customer focus
• A commitment to the University's mission and an understanding of the operation of a university
Qualification Required & Experience
• A masters degree in human resource management / public administration or relevant qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
• A final professional qualification with IHRMP Ghana, ICSA, CIAMC or CIPFA and considerable experience in a tertiary institution
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in a tertiary institution
