Job Title: DIAGNOSTIC RADIOGRAPHER
Reports To: Medical Director
Department: Oncology
Contract Type: Permanent (Full Time)
Hours: Mondays-Fridays 8:00am-5:00pm (Occasional Weekend/extra working hours may be required)
Job Function and Related Performance Criteria

• As a Diagnostic Radiographer, you will be expected to act according to SGMC’s vision as a Centre of Excellence and contribute to a professional and pleasant atmosphere both between colleagues and in patient relations. Moreover, you will be required to work in accordance with the codes and relevant guidelines of your professional licensing body.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be expected to achieve a high standard of performance as a Diagnostic Radiographer, while you deliver on the following broad job requirements. The successful candidate would work under the direct supervision of the radiotherapy team lead by:
• Operating the diagnostic imaging equipment at SGMC Including the CT and MRI.
• To ensure an efficient patient flow through the diagnostic imaging procedures at SGMC
• To act according to the SGMC visions as a centre of excellence and contribute to a professional and pleasant atmosphere between colleagues and in patient relations.
• To implement routines to ensure correct management of patients
• To be responsible for the booking procedures.
• To master the protocols and procedures necessary for imaging studies and to perform prescribed imaging studies according to such protocols.
• To collaborate with Radiologist in assessing clinical findings of performed studies, and if needed recommend further investigations.
• To be responsible for the handling of images from CT/MRI to the Radiologist to enable safe and efficient image reporting.
• To ensure satisfactory service of image reporting to patients.
• To assist in quality assurance procedures for the CT and MRI regarding image, quality and other dosimetry parameters.
Qualification, Skills & Experience
• Experience: Ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience.
• The Diagnostic Radiographer must have knowledge of Magnetic Resonance Imaginig (MRI) scanner, the use of Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner preferably SIEMENS and be good with cannulation.
• Education: Degree, Diagnostic Radiography of an approved University.
• License/Certification: Certified Diagnostic Radiographer by the Ghana Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) or temporary certification for recent graduates, as well as a member of the Ghana society of Radiographers (GSR).
• Candidate must be ready to learn and familiarize themselves with working in a multidisciplinary environment
• Ability to work in a team
