The ARB Apex Bank Ltd has been established by the ARB Apex Bank Ltd. regulations, 2006 (L. I. 1825) to provide support services to the Rural and community Banks (RCBs). The bank invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the following position: System Engineer

Job Purpose

• The systems engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and support of Radio, VSAT WAN, Storage and ICT infrastructure at the Data centre.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain strong arrays,SAN switches and Backup tape libraries.
• Mange and administer high-end server running Windows and Redhat Linux Operating system.
• Create and support the running of WMware virtual environments
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, configure / add new services as necessary
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
• Maintain Data Center environment and monitoring equipment.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled job such as backups
• Research and recommend innovative approaches, for system administration tasks
• maintain operational, configuration or other procedures.
• Be responsible for resolution of assigned helpdesk issues
• Monitor and support Wide Area Network(WAN).
• Configuration of network Devices such as routers, switches, firewall, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS)
• Create and manage VLANs
• Anti-Virus Configuration and Management.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of a first degree in Computer Engineering or related field form a recognized university, with at least 3 years of post qualification experience in managing high-end servers and storage arrays in Data Center environment.
• Related professional certification will be an added advantage.

Skills Required

• Knowledge in Server operating systems, preferably Linux and Windows
• Working knowledge with SAN systems
• Storage and Backup Administration
• Knowledge of system virtualization preferably VMware vSphere
• Exposure to Disaster Recovery and Business continuity Practices
