A reputable financial institution (non-bank) is seeking to recruit qualified individuals to fill the following position: Software Developer

The Role:

• Gather user requirements and develop functional specifications, as well as high level design documents
• Develop and maintain applications
• Conduct test or review to verify and ensure that developed systems are free from defects and meets user expectations
• Ensure that programs and documentation adhere to standards and naming conventions
• Determine the source of problems with production systems and initate corrective actions
• Design, write , test and debug database stored procedures and complex queries to extract, calculate or manipulate information
• Consult, design and implement routines that perform large query loads for business users on demand basis
• Design and development of PL/SQL stored procedures, packages and triggers for add on features of technical applications and other in-house developed systems
• Work with database administrator to design and develop user friendly interfaces, either web or windows forms to support systems
• Understand clients needs, identify root causes of problems and design pragmatic and robust technical solutions, identify and report scope changes, write report, document code and troubleshoot user interfaces of software used by the company

Qualification Required & Experience

• A degree in computer science or information technology with strong emphasis on software development (programming)
• A minimum of 5 years WASSCE/SSSCE/GCE "O" level credits, including English and mathematics
• At least 4 years working experience in the development of web and windows based applications
• Broad understanding of software development tools and skill sets
• Extensive working experience in the DOTNET framework and VB Net and/or C sharp (C)
• Should be familiar with Microsoft share point and a working knowledge of Microsoft exchange server
• Broad understanding of software modeling concept and techniques and be familiar with any modeling tool for design documentation purpose
• Understanding and use of the structured query language (SQL)
