Job Vacancy For Procurement Manager
A leading Oil and Gas company is seeking suitably qualified, goal-oriented and result-driven individual with exceptional qualities for appointment to the following position: Procurement Manager
Job Objective
• The Procurement Manager is responsible for procurement planning, costing, negotiation, warranties, specifications and related supply chain and logistics management functions for several projects with the company. The individual will be responsible for driving the procurement policies of the company and ensure cost-effective procurement of supplies, equipment and services for all installations and maintenance contracts
Duties and Responsibilities will comprise
• Develop procurement strategies for preparation and presentation to the Executive
• Be the lead buyer responsible for the management and acquisition of goods, works, technical services and consultancy services for the corporation
• Promote safety and awareness among supply chain and engineering staff aimed at zero accident / incident rate
• Participate in the prequalification of suppliers as necessary and evaluation of commercial bids
• Analyse material requirement planning (MRP) data in financial database and convert purchase requests (PRs) to firm purchase orders
• Check all invoices to ensure adherence to the company's policies (standard operating procedures - SOPs)
• Manage the relationships in obtaining regulatory approvals from the public procurement authority (PPA), entity tender committee and the central tender review committee (CTRC) under specific procurement thresholds for the company
• Prepare negotiation strategies and procurement negotiation as appropriate
• Ensure awards of contracts and purchase orders are in compliance with PPA procedures, specifications and local and international HSE standards where applicable
• Ensure quality assurance of data processing in procurement purchasing accounting
• Provide sound advice on specifications for procurement
• Readily take ownership and confidently lead complex negotiations that regularly lead to notable cost savings
• Promote procurement influence while maintaining long-lasting working relationships with existing and potential suppliers
• Play a key role in the leadership of cross-functional procurement team members
Qualification Required & Experience
• Master of science (MSc) / MBA in supply chain, management and procurement CIPS full qualification is mandatory
• Minimum of 10 years experience in procurement within the public sector. Knowledge of SAP will be advantageous and must be currently working in a similar role within the public sector.
