A newly established insurance company is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the following position: Information Technology (IT) Head

Job Summary

• Responsible for overseeing and managing the company's information technology projects from development to installation
• Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all technology operations (e.g network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by senior management
• Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to senior management
• Coordinate and supervise computer technicians and other professionals to provide guidance
• Control budget and report on expenditure
• Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-effective contracts
• Ensure alignment of IT plans to achievement of business objectives
• Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls in the IT delivers benefits committed
• Optimise the total cost of ownership of IT within the context of delivering
• Ensure optimal investment in and proper management of critical IT resources

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of a first degree in computer science from a recognised university, MA/MSC would be an added advantage
• Professional qualification in Microsoft MCP, MCSE, MCTIP, MTA, MCTS, ITIL version 3.0 Cisco or security
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure and data center operations, networks, VPN solutions, storage management, capacity planning and disaster recovery
• Knowledge in Linux Administration and Microsoft Servers Administration
• At least 5 to 10 years IT working experience, preferably in the insurance services industry
• Good planning and organizing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly proactive, passionate and motivated
