Job Vacancy For Information Technology (IT) Manager
Job Purpose
The University of Ghana Medical Center is a completely ICT-based paperless medical facility and the IT Manager must be knowledgeable, highly skilled and professional confident with uncompromising availability to ensure the full deployment and effective functioning of all IT infrastructure and related installations to support timely medical care. Specifically, the IT Manager, under the direct supervision of the chief Executive shall perform the following functions:
• Plan and implement strategies that would ensure provide 24-hour technical IT support to all relevant department
• Accomplish information technology staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results
• Maintains organisation's effectiveness and efficiency by defining delivering and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
• Direct technological research by studying organisation goals, strategies, practices and user projects
• Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center
• Verify application results by coordinating system audits of technologies implemented
• Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
• Recommends information technology strategies, policies and procedures by evaluating organisation outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, anticipating requirements
• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards
• Advise the management on the planning and implementation of IT solutions
Qualification Required & Experience
Candidates seeking this position must:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10 years of IT service delivery experience
• 3+ years of supervising IT employees
• Proven ability to delivery IT solutions on time and on budget
• Basic understanding of servers, computers, network protocols, principles and concept

• Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule to get job done, as required
• Must be able to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines
• Must be a team player as well as self-motivated to be able to work independently and possess a customer focused mentality
• Must possess a strong work ethic, be trustworthy and maintain a high degree of integrity
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel and Access
