The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is seeking for qualified and experienced professionals to fill the under mentioned vacancy at the Ghana Boundary Commission.

Job Title: Accountant

Job Purpose

• To provide technical and operational support for the implementation of financial management policies

Main Duties

• Make sure financial management practices conform be best practices
• Receive, keep custody and disburse fund and other revenue
• Maintain proper books of accounts and record on funds in the commission
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statement
• Supervise the preparation of trial balance and monthly bank reconciliation statement
• Facilitate the preparation of the annual budget of the commission and ensure that proper allocation and use of the budget
• Ensure effective fnancial transactions relating to expenditure management and reporting/accounting for all transactions
• Ensure prompt processing of payment vouchers and issue cheques for goods and service procured
• Respond to financial audit observation made by auditors
• Prepare of quarterly and annual financial reports
• Offer financial advice to management
• Identify sources for resource generation to the commission and advise on possible sources of fundings
• Take the necessary step to facilitate the recovery of all revenues due the commission
• Process the salary and compensations due staff promptly

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of a first degree in Accounting
• A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
• Pass a selection interview conducted by commission
