Chemonics International Inc, a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., is seeking long-term employees and short-term consultants for an anticipated early grade literacy and numeracy program in Ghana. The anticipated four-year project will focus on improving reading and numeracy instruction, teacher training, education management, and material development in English and mother tongue languages at the primary school level.

We are recruiting a senior-level teacher training specialist to manage in-service and pre-service training activities at the primary education level. It is anticipated that this person will coordinate with regional and district government counterparts to assess, adapt, and delivery trainings to education professionals.

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications for the position:

•  Master’s degree in education or relevant specialty area preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience in education-related field;
•  Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience developing and managing teacher training activities;
•  Knowledge of the Ghana education system;
•  Experience on USAID or other donor-funded programs preferred and experience working with non-governmental organizations, national and local governments, and the private sector required;
•  Outstanding leadership, management, and interpersonal skills;
•  Fluency in English required.
