Job Vacancy For Management Accountant
A private hospital is looking to hire a Management Accountant to join its team.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparing periodic financial statements, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
• Prepare statutory and management accounts.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
• Manage capital expenditure
• Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
• Provide variances analysis from budget, identify added-value reporting opportunities for trend analysis and commentary to assist forecasting and budgeting requirements
• Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
• Maintaining records and reconciliation controls of approved budgets
• Year-end income and expenditure forecasts
• Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
• Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget
• Analysing financial performance and so contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
• Offering professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
• Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
• Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
• Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
• Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
• Responsible for dealing with Treasury management and day to day cash management
• Assist with the audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and corporation tax returns
Qualification Required & Experience
• Advanced degree in Accounting plus a professional qualification in Accounting
from a recognized professional Accounting body- ACCA, CIMA, ICA etc.
• Proven working experience in a supervisory role
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Functional Skills and Knowledge
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Excellent accounting software user
• Strong understanding of Accounting software
• Excellent administration skills
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
• Accuracy and an eye for detail
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Ability to act with integrity
• Excellent Negotiating and communication Skills
