Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ghanaian Nationals for the post of Finance Assistant (General Service Category)

Purpose of the Post:
Under the supervision of the Finance Officer and the overall guidance of the Chief of Operations, facilitates disbursement, recording and accounting for funds.

Key Accountabilities, Duties & Tasks:

•  Maintain financial records for office accounts for which responsibility is assigned
•  Promptly deposits monies received on behalf of UNICEF into UNICEF bank accounts and issues receipts
•  Prepares periodic reports on Bank and Cash Accounts and other assigned accounts, noting problems resulting from over expenditure or less than expected receipts
•  Compile monthly accounts for transmission to Head Quarters and maintain finance files to ensure completeness of records
•  Prepare routine correspondence and maintain contact with local banks to clarify questions pertaining to office bank accounts
•  Perform Cashier Functions

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualification and Competencies
Education:

Completion of Secondary Education or Higher National Diploma in Accounting with three years of relevant work experience in the area of accounting. Additional University Degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desirable

Work Experience:

Minimum 4 years of experience in general accounting duties
