We are seeking to recruit an experienced professional and innovative individual with the imagination and determination to deliver a clear vision/direction and first class services in our Treasury Back Office.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role is responsible for the daily support function of all dealing activities undertaken with particular emphasis on settlements, independent risk management of the banks positions and maintenance of core dealing systems across the Treasury business. The jobholder is directly responsible for managing a team of specialist personnel in a highly regulated area of the business.
Key Accountabilities:
• Manage and oversee internal control requirements towards achieving overall control effectiveness and ensure a stringent operational framework in line Policy
• Keep abreast of local market developments/sanctions etc which could have a direct bearing or change to procedures or are incorporated in a timely and effective manner
• Ensure effective monitoring and processing of all transactions undertaken by Dealers
• Oversee production of Treasury Returns for Regulatory and Governance purposes. Assist Finance Department in preparing relevant reports to meet deadlines
• Actively discuss business issues with the local Treasurer to ensure compliance to policy and procedures
• Oversee the accurate preparation of financial accounting in respect of Interest Paid/Received/Accruals and any fee based income where appropriate
• Manage the production of all daily settlements and month-end accounting records related to all products
• Review reconciled accounts and recommend appropriate action to resolve outstanding ones
Qualification Required & Experience
Essential Requirements:
• At least 5 years experience at senior management position in a Treasury environment in a banking institution
• Experience of managing a team in a treasury environment
• Thorough comprehension of treasury controls, compliance and ethical standards both at dealing and operational support level
• A sound technical appreciation of Treasury end-to-end process
• Good knowledge of Treasury products and demonstration of sound understanding of immediate implications or impacts to business (i.e. risks and accounting)
• A good first degree from a recognized university. Masters degree qualification, ACI-Operations accreditation and other Treasury-related training will be an added advantage
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills – assimilation and appraisal of data/information
