Title: Migration Health Programme Assistant
Duty Location: Tamale, Northern Region Of Ghana
Grade: G4
Type Of Contract: Special All Inclusive
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission of IOM Ghana, the direct supervision of the Project Manager and in coordination with the Clinical Psychologist and the Migration Health Officer based in Accra, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the programme activities.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Assist and support in the development of selection criteria of the project beneficiaries;
2. Assist in the identification and registration of the project beneficiaries into the National Health Insurance Scheme in coordination and collaboration with local governmental and civil society partners
3. Assist in the identification and registration of the most traumatized and vulnerable individuals in collaboration with project partners;
4. Assist to organize publicity events to showcase the health insurance access assistance to the beneficiaries in collaboration with partners;
5. Assist with the provision of community-based counseling in collaboration with partners;
6. Participate in the coordination meetings pertaining to project implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
7. Assist to prepare activities reports and updates as necessary;
8. Maintain cordial and collaborative relationships with the project partners to fulfill the project objective;
9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager, Clinical Psychologist or the Migration Health Officer
Desirable Academic Qualifications and Experience:
1. Minimum diploma from an accredited academic institution preferably in health or social sciences;
2. At least 4 years of work experience in health sector;
3. Previous work experience with UN, International NGOs, Local NGOs or Civil Society Organisations
4. Good communication and negotiation skills
5. Experience with raising awareness in the public domain;
6. Good report writing skills;
7. Determination and ability to travel frequently and work under difficult and hardship conditions
8. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Tamale
