Job Vacancy For Junior Technical Advisor
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) - is a public-benefit federal enterprise working in more than 100 countries worldwide. Project Brief:
The Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs and Growth in the Accra, Ghana ECOWAS region (MOVE) project focuses on building resilient cashew and rice value chains to contribute to the creation of jobs and income in West Africa, with ECOWAS as its main political partner. The project is mainly funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with co-funding from the European Union and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented jointly with numerous private and public partners. MOVE intervention countries include Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.
Scope of Role:
The Junior Technical Advisor (M&E and Information Technology) supports the team leader and other experts perform technical tasks. He/She carries out specific tasks in connection with knowledge management for the project and develops monitoring structure based on the project log frame, gathered baseline and continuous tracking of indicators towards management and project team. He/She produces regular reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required (e.g. quarterly EU snapshot summaries) and provides technical ICT support for PSD Unit/MGF and HCD on e-learnings
Tasks:
• Collects data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
• Responsible for planning, coordinating, documenting, and reporting on relevant topics needed by M&E.
• Assists in putting together an overview of project/programme activities, deadlines etc. and presents this regularly at team meetings.
• Facilitates the exchange between partners and project stakeholders, prepare meetings and provide relevant information.
• Carries out specific research tasks which are required for planning the implementation of projects or programmes.
• Compiles the relevant information for joint activities and assignments.
• In consultation with the technical advisors, prepares and carries out qualitative research projects (developing survey instruments, field trials, training
field staff, organisational preparation in the field, collecting and analysing data).
• Assists in drawing up reports, establishes a project database and supports in communicating, updating and collecting information need by M & E.
• Responsible for planning, coordinating, documenting, and reporting on relevant topics needed by M&E.
• Supports the organization and conduction of trainings and workshop and monitor the progress of project activities.
• Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
• Represents the interest of the GIZ-assisted measure and always acts on its behalf.
Qualification Required & Experience
Profile:
• BSc degree in Information Technology or any related field.
• Knowledge on Matching Grant Fund Project will be an advantage.
• Knowledge on GIZ processes will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in website management and GIZ software systems like SAP.
• Have a minimum of 2 years professional experience.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Team, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of ICT technologies and computer applications (e.g. data analysis programmes like SPSS, Power BI etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge in quantitative/qualitative analysis, ability to produce structured reports.
• Ability to work under pressure, strong team orientation, cooperation, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of English; and basic knowledge in French will be an advantage.
• Willingness to updated skill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.
