Title: Driver
Duty Location: Tamale, Northern Region Of Ghana
Position's Grade: G1
Type Of Contract:  Special All Inclusive

Role:
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of Resources Management Officer, in close cooperation and under coordination of Logistics Assistant the incumbent is responsible for the following function:

. Drive IOM office vehicle(s) as per schedule and instructions assigned by Logistics Assistant
. Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure road worthiness of the vehicles. This includes daily check of tyres, brakes, engine oil, fan belt etc
. Arrange for minor repairs and ensures that the vehicles are kept clean
. Ensure that the vehicles undertake regular service intervals
. Make sure that the vehicles always has the full tank prior departure for field trips
. Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destination
. Ensure that the IOM vehicle(s) is used only for official/authorized business, and for the transport of authorized personnel as advised by the supervisor
. Make sure that the daily log book is duly filled
. Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials
. Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes
. Collect and delivers mail/documents as assigned
. Ensure that the steps required by the local rules and regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken in case of involvement in accident
. Ensure that in case of accident report to police and supervisor prior to determination of fault
. Perform any other duties that the supervisor may assign

Qualification requirements:

1. Primary education
2. Driver’s education
3. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations
4. Skills in minor vehicle repair
5. Safe driving record
6. Two years work experience as a driver
7. Good knowledge of the local language and the working language of the duty station
8. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Tamale
