IT Jobs in Ghana - The University of Ghana was established in 1948 to provide higher education, undertake research, disseminate knowledge and to foster relationships with outside persons and bodies. It currently has a student population of over 38,000 to 5,000 employees (Basic Statistics, 2011)

Description Of Job

Location: The location could be in the University of Ghana Business School, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences or the Faculty of Science, depending on the profile of the applicant.

Role and Responsibilities of Occupant:
During his/her tenure, the occupant will be expected to:

•  Conduct research in the areas and issues related to Information Communication Technology (ICTs), regulatory framework, radiation protection, interconnectivity, competition within the industry, etc
•  Deliver public lecturers and seminars;
•  Moderate roundtable discussions and or brainstorming sessions;
•  Liaise with other scholars in Ghana and Africa in promoting the effective use of ICT;
•  Produce a publishable manuscript on his/her research;
•  Prepare a report detailing the results achieved at the end of the tenure period

Emoluments & Facilities:
The Occupant will be provided with:

•  Professor's salary plus supplementation;
•  A research grants and research staff;
•  A fully furnished office;
•  Appropriate passages to assume duty where necessary;
•  Appropriate residential accommodation where necessary;

Tenure:
Tenable for periods ranging from 6 to 12 months and renewable for another term only

Qualification Required & Experience

Requirements for Appointment:

•  Must be a scholar or a public figure who has attained distinction in a scholarly discipline or in public affairs relevant to the information communication industry;
•  Must have an extensive publication record;
•  Must exhibit a commitment to scholarship in a relevant field including in particular issues relating to communications technology, economics and politics
