COTVET was set up by an Act of Parliament to formulate national policies on skills development across pre-tertiary and tertiary education, in both the formal and non formal sectors of the economy. COTVET is also to co-ordinate, harmonize and supervise the activities of private and public providers of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), including apprenticeship

Job Purpose

To assist in coordinating and organising the development of objective assessment and certification tools; coordination of certification process in TVET which ensures the objectivity and integrity of the assessment and certification system.

Responsibilities

•   Assist in interpreting guidelines and criteria for accrediting organisations and individuals to carry out assessment of the outcomes of TVET.
•   Assist in conducting due diligence at centres and institutions for assessment.
•   Assist in supervising accredited TVET institutions and organisations to ensure adherence to assessment standards.
•   Assist in documenting all forms of assessment as carried out by training providers and organisations.
•   Compile assessment results from various TVET providers for submission to COTVET management.
•   Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of First Degree in Education with post graduate training in Educational Tests and Measurements.
•   At least five years’ experience in the assessment of TVET curricula in an institution or industry environment.
