Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ghanaians for appointment in the following vacant position in a reputable food processing company listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange and licensed to operate as a Free Zone Enterprise in Tema.

Job Purpose:

To co-ordinate and supervise audit operation to ensure that financial and other transactions are undertaken on sound basis and in conformity with approved manuals, budget and policies and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

•   Appraises and documentts the system of control in the various departments of the company.
•   Reviews the internal controls of the company and advises Management of the adequacy of control systems and the effectiveness of the company's internal control arrangements
•   Ensures a reliable basis for the preparation of accounts and operational performance report
•   Conducts management and organisation audit and advises management on the performance of and departure from established procedures
•   Regularly performs a system audit, value for money audit and audit of the accounts.
•   Verifies the company's computer system to ascertain whether it is being operated as intended and that the in-built controls and being utilized effectively
•   Reviews, appraises and reports the extent to which the company's assets and interests are accounted for and safeguarded
•   Prepares and submits quarterly, and annual internal audit reports for Management's consideration
•   Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Final of ACCA, CA (Ghana), CIMA, or its equivalent with a minimum of 5 years experience

Technical Competencies

A thorough knowledge of:

•   The relevant laws
•   The requirement of relevant professional bodies
•   The aims of the organisation and
•   The structure and systems of internal control in operation

Competencies and Skills

•   Must be impartial and honest in dicharging all responsibilties
•   Ability to keep confidential information during the course of an audit
•   Good verbal and written communication skills
•   Independence of mind
•   Integrity and conduct must be above reproach
