Duties and Responsibilities:

Overall, the Business development manager will be responsible for facilitating and increasing investments within the cassava value chain  with a focus on processing, processors and flash dryer investments. He/she will work with the appropriate value chain actors (from input providers to end consumers) to create the right linkages and ensure the achievement of the objectives of the CAVA II project.

Duties shall include (but not limited to):

•   Source for investors willing to invest across any stage of the cassava value chain especially processing and value addition
•   Create the right tools and processes to ease investments and deal transactions
•   Work with SMEs/ business owners in the cassava value chain to help drive business growth
•   Promote the establishment of the right functional linkages between all value chain actors in cassava including input providers,equipment suppliers, farmers (and farmer associations),logistics providers, processors,exporters,end user groups etc.
•   Coordinate and mentor value chain actors to reapply best practices in driving business growth
•   Work with CAVA II investment team and the directorate office ( as required by the directorate team) in helping deliver all CAVA II project objectives
•   Work with the Ghana Country Manager in delivering CAVA II objectives and all other related tasks as required.
•   Undertake all other duties required for the successful completion of the CAVA II project

Reports to: CAVA II Ghana Country Manager

Qualification Required & Experience

•   An advanced degree in management, sales or marketing degrees in agriculture management or economics preferred
•   At least 5 years in a marketing, sales or business development role
•   Prior experiences in the agriculture sector or roles in the development space
•   A self-starter comfortable in working with limited direction
•   Proven track record of developing businesses in complex and demanding environments
