Chemonics International, a leading consulting firm based in the Washington, D.C is one of the largest U.S consulting firms providing expertise to initiatives financed by the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID).
Chemonics seeks experienced professional for anticipated project funded by USAID that aims to increase food security and improve nutrition and health in Northern Ghana. We are looking for professionals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
1. Chief Of Party
Her/His primary responsibilities are:
. Provide overall leadership, management, and general technical direction of the project.
. Facilitate an integrated programme approach that takes into account various project components and actors.
. Ensure achievement of project objectives and foster and maintain collaborative relationships with USAID, government
officials, partner organizations, and other stakeholders
. Manage a team of employees to achieve project goal.
. Ensure compliance with the regulations, budget, and implementation plan set forth in the contract.
Required and preferred skills:
. Minimum of 10 years experience in international nutrition, public health, agriculture, or another related field, at least 7 of which were spend living and / or working in developing countries required.
. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in USAID and other donor nutrition/health/livelihood projects required.
. Experience in Africa required
. At least 2 years of senior-level experience working on projects that addressed gender-related constraints in either the
agriculture or nutrition sector required.
. Master's degree or higher in nutrition, public health, agriculture or related field required.
. Previous experience managing USAID contracts preferred.
2. Senior Management Systems Advisor
His/Her primary responsibilities are:
. Provide technical advice in the development and implementation of financial and project management systems
. Recommend systems to improve responsiveness of local government to food security and nutrition needs of communities
. Strengthen human capacity in the areas of planning, budgeting, financial management, supervision and M&E
Required and preferred skills:
. Master's degree in international development, agriculture, economics, public health, nutrition or related field of study
required.
. Ten (10) years or more of progressively responsible work experience in advising government counterparts in developing countries and using management systems to support programming at the community level required
. At least 2-3 years of experience in working with De-centralised government structures, preferably in Africa.
3. Technical Advisors and Programme Managers
Chemonics is also seeking a senior-level programme managers and technical advisors with proven expertise in at least one of the following areas:
. Nutrition
. Behavior Change communications
. Water, hygiene and sanitation
. Strengthening livelihoods
. Women's empowerment
. Agriculture production, post harvest handling, and marketing
. Monitoring and evaluation
. Finance
. community-based savings and loans schemes
. Local capacity
Required and Preferred Qualification:
. Master's Degree in international development, agriculture, economics, public health, nutrition, or related field of study
. Seven (7) years of more of progressively responsible work experience in the field
. Proven managerial or supervisory experience
. Demonstrated experience with knowledge sharing and capacity building.
. Experience with USAID strong preferred.
