IWAD is a newly incorporated company with the mandate to develop and manage the sisili Kulpawn Irrigation Project in the Northern Region of Ghana. The company's vision is to expand commercially viable irrigation practices in the Sisili-Kulpawn basin through the delivery of high quality irrigation support, new technology development and knowledge transfer, promoting water use efficiency and sustainability and secure farmer revenues for both smallholders and the nucleus estates. To help bring this vision to crystallization, we are looking for qualified and self-motivated professionals to assume the following positions at contribute to the implementation of the project.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

•   Provide leadership and direction with regards to engaging communities to buy into the Integrated Water and Agricultural Management project
•   Communicate and disseminate project related information in simple langauge to the project beneficiaries in the SK Basin especially women and youth groupings
•   Prepare ideas for innovative actions regarding child labour in the event this ia observed within the project including strategic behaviour change communication and gender mainstreaming advocacy
•   Regarding the development of 400ha land for the irrigation scheme, be part of IWAD team (Gender expert) to inform and provide support to the communities within the Wungu Sub-traditional area
•   Assist in the formation of Water User groups within the irrigation project and organisation of farmers in the Rain-fed area with specific emphasis on women and youth and identified vulnerable people

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A university Degree in any of the following disciplines, Sociology / Social Science / Agricultural Economics
•   A minimum of five (5) years post qualification relevant working experience

Required Knowledge, Skills & competencies

•   Experience in dealing with women and children will be an added advantage
•   Ability to express oneself in the local dialect around the project area is an added advantage
•   Strong strategic and leadership orientation
•   Proactive and an avid team player
•   Analytical / problem solving skills
