The candidate’s RESPONSIBILITIES shall include but not limited to the following:

•   Support the Construction Project Team with  the daily Scheduling, Tracking, Monitoring, and Optimal use of all construction equipment.
•   Document the man-hours spent by each equipment on each house equipment cost tracking & logging). Evaluate the productivity rates of each equipment and prepare a justification for continuous use or decommissioning of each equipment.
•   Provide engineering support including inspecting, analysing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, re-testing and repairs of construction equipment and machines such as Pay loaders, Excavators, Backhoes, Telehanders, and Compactors, etc
•   Develop the maintenance strategy for all construction vehicles, equipment, and machines.
•   Manage, schedule, supervise and carry out Preventative and Reactive maintenance.
•   Attend to machine breakdowns and ensure that machine down time is kept at a minimum.
•   Arrange and conduct routine training for all machine & equipment operators
•   Ensure the safe and efficient use of ail construction vehicles, equipment, & machines
•   Develop a replacement parts list for each equipment / machine, and ensure that the replacement parts are stocked at the site stores, and readily available for repair work.
•   Prepare a justification to buy, lease, rent, or dispose/salvage any type of equipment.
•   Develop quarterly/annual budgets for equipment operational cost, and maintenance cost.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   BSc Mechanical Engineering, with 3 years post qualification experience in the management, scheduling, and maintenance of construction equipment or,
•   HND Mechanical Engineering, with 6+ years post qualification experience in the management, scheduling, and maintenance of construction equipment or,
•   Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (KNUST), with 6+ years post qualification experience in the management, scheduling, and maintenance of construction equipment
•   Mechanical Engineering/Motor Vehicle Certification is a plus.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

•   Must be computer literate, and very familiar with the use of Microsoft excel and word
•   Must have the ability to read and interpret wiring/circuit, mechanical drawing /diagrams.
•   Must have a strong understanding of Hydraulics, Engines and Auto-Electrics
•   Must have good knowledge of mechanical and wiring systems (transmission, engine, hydraulics, suspension, undercarriage, drive train etc)
•   Must have the ability to conduct training and evaluate the performance of all machine operators.
