Background
Ghana has embarked on a project aimed at transforming the refrigerating appliance market from one of inefficient appliances to energy efficient market guided by performance standards and a labelling regime.

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has approved a project for Ghana titled “Promoting Appliance Energy Efficiency and Transformation of the Refrigerating Appliances Market in Ghana” under which the GEF is supporting activities aimed at realising the goal of the Ghana initiative.

Energy Commission is the implementing agency for the project and maintains a project office for coordination of activities. The project unit requires the services of personnel to provide assistance in building robust data management systems for project interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities

•   Under the overall supervision by the Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission and direct supervision by the Project Coordinator, the personnel shall perform in particular the following duties:
•   Receive, review, and enter data into computer system or tracking database according to established procedures and formats.
•   Ensure accuracy of all data recorded and performs database maintenance functions.
•   Assists Project Coordinator and Finance and Admin Assistant for filing and copying documents Performs general clerical duties such as typing, answering phones, etc.
•   Maintain confidential information.
•   Support Project Coordinator and Finance and Admin Assistant for meeting arrangement and banking processes
•   Update project website and facebook page
•   Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
•   Any other tasks assigned by Project Coordinator

Proposed Budget
Monthly lump sum of GHS500 per month.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Diploma in Information Technology, information systems, business administration, or related field
•   At least 1 year in data entry or related field, including excellent skills in typing, databases, attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, speed and organization.
•   Experience (GIS) Geospatial Information System would be an asset.
•   Fluency in written/spoken English language

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•   Full IT literacy (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook). Microsoft access
•   Able to efficiently operate databases.
•   Excellent knowledge about information security.
•   Proactive attitude and result driven.
•   Excellent ability to administrate and handle complex and voluminous sets of data
•   Ability to work under stressful conditions and strict deadlines;
•   Ability to work effectively and constructively in teams.
