This is a senior member position requiring a highly qualified individual with expertise in Governance and Management of Higher Education Institution. The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the Registrar but the ultimate responsibility will be to the Vice Chancellor. The candidate should have a deep understanding and knowledge of university governance and the operations of university administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Developing and Implementing Human Resource Strategy for the University;
• Managing the recruitment and selection processes;
• Overseeing the University performance management and promotion systems;
• Ensuring the University's compliance with all regulatory framework pertaining to labour;
• Handling matters relating to staff discipline and industrial relations;
• Carrying out Surveys of conditions of service in comparable institutions; and
• Carrying out any duties as may be assigned by the Registrar from time to time,
Qualification Required & Experience
• Applicants must have a minimum of Master's Degree in any of the Social Sciences or relevant disciplines.
• The incumbent must have had a minimum of eight (8) years post-qualification experience, preferably in a university environment.
• The candidate must have had, at least six (6) publications, four (4) of which should be in a refereed journal.
