Job Vacancy For Director of Development



Job Description

•   The right individual will be a change-agent, responsible for the planning, implementing and monitoring of all development oriented activities within the organisation
•   Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence and good listening ability
•   The director works closely with the Board of Directors in all development and fund raising endeavours

Specific responsibilities include:

•   Collaborating with the board of directors and top management to create a development plan which will contribute to the attainment of organisational goals and support the strategic direction of the organisation
•   Implementing the development plan in accordance with ethical organisational and legal principles
•   Monitoring and evaluating all processes and activities to ensure target goals are achieved
•   Developing and managing timelines for activities to ensure strategic plans are carried out in a timely manner

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Strong interpersonal and writing skills
•   Have knowledge and experience in fund raising techniques
•   Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and other volunteers
•   Have the desire to get out of the office and create external relationships with stakeholders in the community
•   Be a "self-starter" goal driven and organised
•   First Degree (required) Masters in Development related field (a plus)
•   Minimum of 5 years experience in development work
•   Minimum of 4 years in Management role
•   Experience with Project Management/Monitoring and Evaluation tools will be an added advantage
