THE ORGANIZATION

Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is an agency of the Ministry of Health and headed by a Management Board. It is responsible for tertiary healthcare delivery. It is also responsible for Teaching, Research and Conducting outreach services to other parts of the country. As part of its strategic plan, the Management Board is inviting applications for the following positions: Director of Medical Affairs

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

•   It is a (4) four-year renewable contract. Successful applicant will report to the Chief Administrator (Chief Executive) and ensure development of clinical proficiency in clinical services.
•   The purpose of the job position is to coordinate clinical care programmes and services in the Hospital.
•   Successful applicant will also lead in the development, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of policies governing clinical services in the Hospital in accordance with the national health policy.
•   She/he will ensure that high clinical standards are met in the provision of medical and dental services.
•   Comprehensive Job Description will be presented to the successful applicants.

Qualification Required & Experience

The Person

•   Must have at least MB ChB/BDS plus Fellowship from a recognised college with not less than eight (8) years post fellowship working experience, two (2) years of which should be in a management or supervisory position.
•   A formal training in Health Service management would be an added advantage.
•   Applicants must be in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council.
