Job Vacancy For Director of Medical Services



Key Responsibilities include:

•   Initiate and lead the development and periodic evaluation/reviews of MSIG medical policies, standards and protocols
•   Assist the country director in establishing affiliation agreements with other health care institutions by promoting rapport between the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and regulatory agencies, professional groups and private healthcare providers
•   Lead medical innovation and actively source new services that contribute to MSIG's overall mission.
•   Lead and participate in medical studies relevant to MSIG core values and interact with external regulatory agencies to ensure ethical considerations are met
•   Provide leadership and guidance to the Medical Development team, motivate and coach members to operate with a high degree of accountability and professionalism
•   Ensure that the Training team conducts trainings, as needed and that trainings are of high quality and responsive to MSIG needs
•   Ensure medical incidence reports systems meet the needs of clients and all actors
•   Serve as a resource for information about SRH issues and share educational resources (books, periodicals, articles) as required
•   Write articles for in-house and/or external publications
•   Any other duties that may come up

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Advanced (Degree and above) in Nursing, Midwifey, Medicine, with a Public Health specialty
•   Professional certificate / License in Nursing, Midwifery or Medicine
•   Evidence of good standing with a recognised clinical related professional body in Ghana

Skills and Experience

•   15 years of work experience in SRH, project management, training, monitoring and supervision
•   A minimum of 10 years in a senior management role
•   Reliable and able to work for long hours without supervision, enthusiastic, positive, determined and flexible
•   Excellent clinical skills in a least 2 of the following medical procedures, manual vacuum, aspiration, tubal ligation, IUCF insertion, implants insertion or vasectomy
•   Working knowledge in IT skills in internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
•   Substantial clinical experience with clinical management and supervision experience
•   Proficient at the provision of Family Planning (FP) and sexual reproductive health (SRH) services
•   Able to apply excellent clinical skills to social goals/issues
•   Able and willing to travel locally and overseas
•   Excellent communication skills with demonstrated cultural sensitivity to SRH issues
