Job Summary

As part of the process, applications are invited from suitably qualified and innovative persons for appointment as Director of Information Technology to further strengthen teaching and research in this increasing important and expanding area of activity.

Duties/ Responsibilities

The director of SIT shall report directly to the Director of Training. He/ She shall oversee the establishment of the facility into a viable functioning unit within the institute.

Key responsibilities

•   Provide leadership for the development of a progressive IT environment, within the institute
•   Oversee the development of the institute’s IT investment, advise senior management on strategic systems conversations and integration in support of institutional goals and objectives
•   Developed policies, programmes and schedules that include privacy and security oversight for academic and administrative information processing and computer services to meet the goals and objective of the institute
•   Develop, direct and manage all computing and IT strategic plans of the institute
•   Oversee the design and facilitate the integration of sound IT architecture technology standards and best practices for the institute
•   Demonstrate the ability and willingness to teach across a range of computer science and IT subjects at different levels

Qualification Required & Experience

Applications seeking appointment to this position must:

•   Possess one of the following:

2) M.S.c / M.Phil Computer Science
3) M.S.C / M.Phil Management Information System
•   Have at least, four (4) years relevant experience as a Deputy Director, Senior Lecurer or Associate Professor (information Systems) in a university or a similar institution of Higher Learning or have at least twelve (12) years relevant postgraduate experience in computer system operation
•   Have some administrative proven supervisory ability
•   A degree in education will be a plus
