URC is recruiting staff for positions on the Operations team for the USAID-funded Ghana Systems for Health Project.

Job Title: DRIVER

Job Summary: The Driver will implement and ensure adherence to administrative policies regarding the official running of project vehicles. Key responsibilities include:

•   Transport project staff to various locations where required by project needs
•   Ensure safe driving, respect local traffic laws and maintain approved speeds
•   Ensure all registration and insurance as required by local law are up to date and renewed as soon as necessary
•   Ensure that the car is constantly in good driving condition by maintaining a regular servicing schedule
•   Ensure that the car is well cleaned every morning
•   Ensure timely fueling of the car to avoid delay of trips
•   Assist in enforcing the use of car only for work related purposes
•   Assist in enforcing that staff members abide by the local traffic laws such as wearing of seat belts
•   Ensure all non-employees sign a release waiver prior to boarding the vehicle
•   Ensure the car is always locked when not in use
•   Avoid recklessness or negligence of any that would endanger self or staff members
•   Report any incidents immediately to supervisor and/or local authorities as appropriate

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Valid driver's
•   Vision test certified by a qualified optometrist to prove good vision
•   At least 5 years' driving experience; certification in driver's safety course or other road safety training desired
•   Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintenance a plus.
