Summary

•   The ECD Program Officer will provide management and technical assistance to the conceptualization, development, and implementation of ECD materials, working collaboratively with project teams. The position is based in Accra.
•   The successful candidate will possess public health knowledge, experience implementing educational and/or health solutions in the field, and strong program management and oversight skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning and Implementation

•   Provide project and logistical management for the implementation of ECD activities
•   Following and revising detailed implementation plans and schedule for development of ECD learning materials and related activities
•   Follow the budget and proper procurement processes for development of activities and submit for activity advances
•   Administer activity related funds as per policy and reconcile with finance team after activities
•   Working closely with project teams, coordinate and facilitate workshops, meetings, field visits and other activities as needed Develop detailed schedule

Coordination, Networking and Representation

•   Work with relevant stakeholders, partners, leadership and staff in the development and implementation of ECD materials

Record Keeping and Reporting

•   Ensure adequate and organized record keeping and timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of all project activities
•   Share records with relevant stakeholders and supervisors as needed
•   Write reports as needed or tasked including key issues, achievements, challenges and lessons learned
•   Write success stories and case studies and share to relevant audiences
•   Take photographs and get signed informed consent

Communication

Promote and support the dissemination of project information and experience sharing among the project team, country office and headquarters-based staff

Qualification Required & Experience

•   University degree in management or in a related professional field or public health related field with requisite work experience
•   At least 3-5 years’ experience in the field for managing international NGO activities

Experienced in:

•   coordinating program activities with governmental, non-governmental and private sector partners
•   collaborating with partners to provide technical assistance and implement program activities
•   Experience with training, staff development, and teaching
•   Knowledge of public health, childhood or nutrition related programs
•   Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of local languages helpful
•   Self-motivated, proactive and possess a positive attitude to work
•   Require minimum supervision
•   Be cooperative, hardworking, flexible & dependable.
•   Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•   Be of high integrity and have a sense of confidentiality
•   Be willing to take on extra responsibilities in order to achieve the goals/objectives set by the organization
•   Willing to and able to travel extensively within the country
