Job Vacancy For Electrical Superintendent
A forward thinking Mining company in the Western Region of Ghana is seeking to employ qualified Ghanaians to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work environment with recreational facilities (swimming pool, gym, soccer grounds and gulf park to entertain staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Must be safety and environmental conscious and demonstrate recognition of policies
• Develop and implement effective Electrical and instrumentation standards and procedures
• Train and develop section employees to uphold the high performance standard
• Identify, implement and manage E&I projects
• Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtimes, anticipate problems timely and identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensure availability of supplies of parts and materials to meet operational needs
• Ensures minerals commission and machinery inspection regulations relating to E&I are at all time
• Implement and maintain safety, health and environmental policies and procedures and ensure to maintain a healthy working environment
• High voltage switchgear, lines maintenance, functional checks & tests
• Must be able to read, interoperate and trouble shoot electrical schematics/drawing
• Performs all duties of the Electrical competent person under the Mines and Quarries Act.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Tertiary qualification (BSc/Diploma) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution
• Must possess mineral commission competency certificate to work as Electrical superintendent
• 10 years work experience in instrumentation and process control in the mining and or related environment, five which must have been in management position
• Strong ability to manage process plant instrumentation and electrical equipment maintenance
• Sound process plant business acumen and ability to influence main cost drivers to achieve set objectives
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft office, Ms project, and working experience in planned maintenance software packages
• High technical ability in problem solving and failure analysis capabilities with special emphasis field instruments PLCs and data control systems
• Leadership experience and thorough understanding of good engineering practices
• A strong desire to coach and develop others by sharing skills and knowledge
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Very good inter departmental relationship
• Must be able to prepare and work within budgets and time lines
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain.
