Serendipalm Co. Ltd. operates Ghana’s only palm oil commercial project with small holders and a “traditional” village-based oil mill. The project supplies several brands in Europe and the U.S., is organic and fair trade certified and has a positive impact on rural development in the Eastern Region.

Job Summary

•   Manage construction and equipment installation and repair projects at the existing mill and a planned second oil mill
•   Cooperate with other staff in assessing and improving operational efficiencies, including the collection and analysis of production data.
•   Assist the general manager, production manager, financial manager and foreign project coordinators in developing facility improvement and construction plans.
•   Eventually oversee and manage all technical staff in cooperation with production manager.
•   Oversee technical side of health and safety program

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A formal qualification in civil or mechanical engineering at diploma or bachelors levels.
•   At least 10 years of relevant employment in engineering with supervisory and management roles.
•   Self-starter, able to independently assess complex technical and managerial situations, develop and implement solutions, including financial analysis of options.
•   Know when to bring in and how to find outside expertise.
•   Able to manage contractors from project inception through quotation and implementation, in cooperation with other company management.
•   Hands-on attitude to find practical solutions for technical and construction projects as part of a team, not as a boss.
•   Able to communicate effectively and respectfully and provide leadership to a team of trained and unskilled staff.
•   Must be able to work with tight deadlines to a high standard of workmanship
•   Excellent written and spoken communication and a proactive approach to effective communication in Twi and English are a must.
•   Advanced computer skills, notably (email, MS Office)
•   Motivated to work on commercial projects with a strong social mission
