Yara Ghana is now looking for an Engineering Technician to join its team. The position will report to the Acting Logistics Manager and will be located in Tema.
Responsibilities
• Testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic measuring, recording, indicating and control instruments/equipment. Tasks also include repairs and preventive maintenance on Air compressors, conveying systems, piping, power generators, power switch gears and other power driven rotating equipment.
• Complies with all Company Safety rules and procedures.
• Participates in routine Preventative/Predictable Maintenance.
• Troubleshoots equipment stoppages and reacts accordingly.
• Utilizes various mechanical and electrical test equipment.
• Assists with manufacturing during product change-over.
• Plans, assists, documents, and implements process improvement techniques and devices.
• Utilizes machining, electrical and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks.
• Communicates with production and other various customers as needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualification Required & Experience
• 2-4 years practical hands on experience in an industrial setting as a Production Technician.
• HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated material handling utilizing 3 Phase 480vac VFD's 24 control and PLC Control Logix troubleshooting.
• Have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks and bobcats.
• Able to interpret and produce mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
Additional Information
• Good electrical aptitude.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on various optimization projects from conception to completion.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
• Light machining, welding and fabrication skills.
