Job Vacancy For Executive Director At Youth Development Research and Innovation Centre



Youth Development, Research and Innovation Centre is a Ghanaian registered NGO with the mission to assist Ghanaian youth to reach their full potential as healthy and responsible individuals by delivering a continuum of interventions in the areas of Education, Health, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Skills development.

Job Purpose

•   The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organisation according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities:

•   Lead strategic programme development: Collaborate with Board of Directors to develop systems for strategic planning, implementation and review of operations of the organisation.
•   Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organisation.
•   Foster effective team work between the Board and the Executive Director and between the Executive Director and staff.
•   Budget and financial management: Lead the preparation of annual budgets with the finance and programme teams and ensure compliance with the financial policy.
•   Fundraising: Lead and coordinate all fundraising activities to ensure the sustainability of the organization and its programmes.
•   Development of partnerships and maintaining partner relations.
•   Act as spokesperson for the organisation.
•   Develop and review organisational policies
•   Ensure that the programmes and services offered by the organisation contribute to the organisation's mission and reflect the priorities of the Board
•   Recruit, lead, motivate, manage and support the development of the YOUDRIC team.
•   Community relations/advocacy: Establish good working relationships with stakeholders, community groups, funders, politicians and other organisations to help achieve the goals of the organisation.
•   Risk management: Identify and evaluate risks to the organisation (clients, staff, management, volunteers, property, finances, goodwill, and image) and implement measures to control risks.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   MBA or Masters in Public Administration, Management, Development Studies Organisational Development or other relevant disciplines with at least 10 years working experience.
•   Over five (5) years of development project experience in a leadership position.
•   Experience working with CSOs /NGOs and organizational capacity building
•   Experience in policy development and analysis.
•   Strong financial and managerial skills and ability to lead, influence and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
•   Good communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively and build relationships at all levels.
•   Experience in implementing projects funded by International donors will be an added advantage.
