Job Vacancy For Field Accounts Officer At Masara N’Arkizi Farmers Association (Tamale)



Masara N’Arkizi Farmers Association is an association for maize producers and is active in the Northern sector of Ghana. At the moment Masara has over 9,000 members (Farmers) with over 50,000 acres and the association is providing several services to its members including provision of agro inputs on credit, extension services, and buying of maize for a guaranteed price. Masara is managed by professional staff and an elected Executive Council. Masara therefore is looking to employ a Field Accounts Officer who can operate independently on the ground.

Job Summary

•   The Field Accounts Officer will oversee all field level accounting activities in his operational zone/area.
•   He will work primarily with field officers, supervisors, the Area Manager, the Extension Manager, the Operations Manager and report directly to the head of the accounts department at the secretariat.

Main Responsibilities

•   Provide accounting and administrative support to the zone.
•   Collate and submit monthly impress returns from field staff to the secretariat.
•   Check/verify to make sure that proper financial reporting is followed by all field staff.
•   Assist internal and external audit staff facilitate annual financial audit.
•   Make sure that all advances are cleared in time and make sure that all outstanding balances are properly accounted for.
•   Reconcile accounts and check the accuracy of all entries.
•   Prepare, check and analyses accounting reports and returns.
•   Banking duties
•   Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with acceptable policies and procedures.
•   Monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting controls and procedures.
•   Ensure timely reporting of expenditure

Qualification Required & Experience

•   At least HND or Bachelor’s degree holder in Accounting or related course. Professional certificate is an added advantage.
•   Proficient knowledge in any accounting software and Microsoft excel.
•   Ability to communicate effectively, time management and interpersonal skills.
•   At least 2-3 years working experience.
•   Young and dynamic with high level of initiative and enthusiasm.
