Job Summary
• Working with the Finance and Information Technology Department (IT) and Reporting to the Head of Finance and IT with matrix line management to the Head of People & Organisation Development, the incumbent will provide financial, management and administrative services to WaterAid Ghana sub-office in Tamale, and provide leadership and advice on managing the operations of the Tamale office.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
• Provide leadership and assist the Northern Programme to prepare its annual budget in a manner that will ensure efficient implementation of regional programme activities.
• Lead in providing financial and administrative support for all the Tamale Office
• Assist management in the planning and management of human, capital, logistic and material resources of the Tamale Office.
• Generate and manage relevant information to aid accurate and sound financial, human, material and resources using financial systems approved by WaterAid as may be directed by Senior Management Team (SMT) on a regular basis.
• Provide support, training and monitoring of partners organisations in financial management.
• Process and monitor transfers to partner organisations and programme management staff of the Northern Region.
• Ensure that the day-to-day recording of expenditure and income are updated in the Global Accounting System. ,
• Maintain office services by organising office operations and procedures; controlling correspondence; records management; reviewing supply requisitions.
• Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
• Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning Receptionist and Driver.
Qualification Required & Experience
• Degree level education with CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• A professional qualification in Office Administration is an advantage.
• Experience in senior level finance and administrative management
• At least 5 years' experience in financial and administrative function in a development organisation
• Experience of use of standard software packages including SUN and Vision, Power Point Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience of budget and cash flow monitoring
• Experience flow monitoring and use of standard software packages including SUN and Vision, Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
• The numerical ability to understand financial models and monitoring of costs.
• Ability to plan own work, setting priorities and completing it under pressure or when faced with competing demands.
• Ability to communicate clearly both speaking and writing at all levels.
• Discretion in handling of confidential information and commitment to WaterAid's approach and values
