The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) is a voluntary, not for profit organization that undertakes advocacy and service delivery in Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Ghana. PPAG is a Member Association (MA) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). It is governed by respectable volunteers who are the members of the Association. The Governing body, formulate policies which are implemented by staff.

Job Description

The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), an NGO working in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), in close collaboration with the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP), an international NGO in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), hereby invites result-oriented and committed persons to apply for the following vacant positions on a new project funded by the TAKEDA Pharmaceuticals and to be implemented jointly by JOICFP, PPAG and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide Accounting support to TAKEDA Project activities and the Association’s Programmes

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly financial returns
• Prepares returns from the TAKEDA project sites for input at the Head Office
• Assist in keeping and maintaining cheque book register
• Provide financial support to project staff
• Ensure that funds are available for project implementation
• Assist in taking periodic cash count
• Assist in keying-in Head Office/Zonal returns
• Pay all monies collected intact into the Association’s Bank Account
• Assist in preparing monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement for the Head Office/Zone
• Receive money and issues the Association’ official receipt
• Perform any other functions as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Higher National Diploma (HND)-Accounting option or its equivalent Professional qualification with a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience.
• A professional qualification is an added advantage

• Have a good knowledge of accounting systems and procedures
• Have a good working knowledge in the use of the computer
• BE a very good interpersonal, and communication skills
• Be honest, transparent and reliable
• Have high sense of responsibility, accuracy, judgmental
• Be able to take initiatives
• Be a team player
• Have a dependable character, be honest and transparent
• Be able to work with little or no supervision
• Have the ability to work for long hours and under pressure
