Job Vacancy For Finance Officer



Responsibilities

As Finance Officer, you will report to the Country Director and have specific responsibilities as follows:

•   Maintain financial policies and procedures as in the approved Financial Administration Manual for the effective management of the office finances in line with best practices
•   Preparation of the annual office budget and work with other relevant head office managers/directors for approval
•   Requests payments on a quarterly basis into the Euro bank account office budget
•   Be responsible for effective handling and controlling of petty cash and cheques for the Accra office
•   Advise and assist staff with the efficient planning, preparation and management of field budget and funds
•   Manage the financial system for the timely provision of accurate financial reports
•   Be responsible for financial administration and reporting using Exact software
•   Prepare budget versus realisation reports on a monthly basis to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted limits and propose interventions where necessary
•   Be responsible for liaising with auditors for annual audits and provide them with all required documentation and information for the preparation of the annual office financial accounts

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Relevant Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
•   Professional accounting qualification is desirable
•   A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the area of financial management, reporting and associated oversight. Experience in an international organisation is preferred
•   Excellent knowledge of financial accounting standards and proven ability to interpret and advise accordingly. Knowledge of advance excel is required and experience with Exact software is an advantage
•   High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information
•   High level of accuracy, professional attitude and attention to detail
•   Demonstrated ability to interact with people at all levels and from different national and cultural backgrounds.

•   Candidate must have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact in an environment with multiple stakeholders
•   Candidates need to be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently and with minimum of supervision
