Job Vacancy For Assistant Manager, Development Communications
A Leading Communication consulting firm in Accra requires a qualified person to fill the position of: ASSISTANT MANAGER, DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION
Responsibilities and Duties:
Purpose
To facilitate development programmes through the use of effective communication approaches.
Duties
• Coordinates efforts in gathering data for the development and implementation of community relations / communication strategies and plans
• Develops and implements community development strategies and plans to project client’s reputation in communities.
• Advises on project community / stakeholder engagement activities.
• Leads in community engagement and mobilization activities.
• Supervises and facilitates efforts by individuals or organizations to earn the social license to operate among local communities.
• Leads client’s community communications activities.
• Leads and coordinates effective, meaningful communication between clients and their local communities.
• Leads the process to identify and draw issues from the local communities, advises on and implements appropriate communication approaches for managing the said issues, supports community relations activities.
• Leads development and management of public, consultation and disclosure efforts among local communities.
• Reports all stakeholder engagements in the timely manner using appropriate methods.
• Supports the preparation of mailing list and distribution of project-related information materials to the media and other stakeholders.
• Develops, updates and manages stakeholder engagement register. Support communication research activities in communities
• Rolls out community relations plans with the support of Community Relations Manager and Senior Community Relations Officer.
• Supervises scouting and issue identification in project areas to inform stakeholder mapping analysis.
• Generates reports on all activities undertaken during implementation of project.
• Keeps and maintains project related stakeholder registers.
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification Required & Experience
• First degree in Communications or related discipline
• Membership of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) or other recognized Professional Communications Bodies

• Good communication skills – oral and written
• Negotiation and Influencing skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and work long hours when required.
